Log in to your Gmail account. Click the gear icon in the screen’s upper-right corner. Click “Settings” from the pop-up menu to load the Settings page. Click “Filters” from the row of options beside the Compose button to open the Filter pane. Type “before:2011/01/15” in the box labeled “Has the words.” Replace “2011/01/15” with the cutoff point before which you want to delete all messages. Click “Create filter with this search” to open a new pane of options.
