A number of printers, including the Brother MFC-465CN, have an automatic cleaning feature that automatically cleans the printer’s heads. Automatic cleaning uses ink and can result in unnecessary ink loss if used too frequently. This automatic cleaning occurs whenever you turn on your printer after having shut it off and whenever you do not print something for extended time period. In order to cancel the automatic cleaning, you must prevent your printer from meeting these criteria.
