Wireless cell phones use rechargeable batteries for power. These batteries are charged by placing the phone in the docking or charging station. Using contacts in the docking station and on the bottom of the phone, the rechargeable battery is able to charge. If the contacts become dirty, due to dust or oils in the hand, they should be cleaned. Cleaning the contacts maintains a clean connection between the battery and the charger.
