TinyUmbrella is a software program that allows you to compile and save SHSH encryption signatures for previous versions of Apple firmware so you can restore to those versions to your iPod or iPhone. TinyUmbrella is written in Java, so you can install it on any machine that has a version of Java installed, including Windows, Mac and Linux machines. TinyUmbrella runs independent of iTunes, so you can restore older versions of firmware using a Linux machine, even though iTunes does not have a Linux version.
