Dots per inch or “dpi” is a measurement of the quality of an image. Typically, the higher the dpi, the better the quality of the image. A high-quality image is important for printing posters or other large format images or graphics. Adobe Acrobat Professional files are called Portable Digital Format or “pdf,” a high-quality digital file suitable for use in commercial offset printing.
