Fujitsu scanners use a program to interface between the scanner and Windows computers called Scanner Utility for Microsoft Windows (SUMW). This program was developed by Fujitsu and is only used on Fujitsu scanners. It is a TWAIN utility, which means that it provides interconnectivity between a computer and a scanner. It is not possible to install a new version of SUMW on top of an older version–the first version must be completely uninstalled prior to installing new software. Sometimes the automatic uninstallation will not work correctly, and the new software won’t install. If that happens, you need to uninstall the SUMW manually. Warnings Writer Bio
