You access your Linksys Wireless G router’s administration utility through its Internet Protocol, or IP, address. The default address is 192.168.1.1, but if you changed and subsequently forgot this address, resetting the router will also reset the IP address back to its default setting. However, this will also reset all your router settings, so a much better alternative is to relocate the IP address, log into your router and manually change it back. This method preserves your router’s other settings and gives you more control over the new IP address, which is useful to correct conflicts with other network devices that share the router’s current address.
