Before you begin using your CB radio, it is important to adjust your Wilson 5000 antenna to a working SWR level. The SWR, or standing wave ratio, measures the impedance mismatch between the antenna and radio. When the ratio of the antenna and radio impedance, or resistance to electrical flow, is significantly higher than 2:1, the radio’s efficiency will diminish.
