The Skype application enables you to make voice and video calls as well as send instant messages to your contacts but it can be a drain on resources to leave it running. Skype can be set to automatically launch when your computer boots in to Windows 7, but if you prefer not to make use of this feature, it is easy to disable. The option to disable Skype from starting along with Windows is found in the general settings tab. If this method fails, you can also disable Skype from the startup section of your Windows 7 system configuration.
