Open the laptop lid by pulling up on the top half of the laptop and pushing it back. There is no lock keeping the lid connected to the rest of the computer. Locate the power button in the bottom left-hand corner of the display panel. Right next to the power button is the lock button. It’s a small, round switch. Slide the small, round lock button to the right to unlock the Toshiba Portege laptop. Press and hold the “Power” button for about 3 seconds until the laptop powers on. Writer Bio
